Getting Back in the Game

I have really fallen off the blog-writing bandwagon over the last couple of years. I can blame it on job requirements, family matters, volunteering, and a host of other excuses. The simple fact of the matter is that I have gotten very lazy. I still read every Civil War book and magazine I can get my hands on, but I just stopped at that. There are a lot of subjects concerning the Civil War that I say to myself "Oh, that would make a good blog posting," but then I put it off until later, and later makes the post untimely. I believe part of my laziness came from the fact that I spent three years researching and writing a regimental history, only to find out someone else beat me to the subject matter when I was 95% complete in my writings. A bit discouraging, to say the least. That said, I am going to attempt to post on this blog at least once a week from now on. Perhaps that will get the creative juices flowing again, and maybe I can find something else to write a book about. Until later, my friends...
